Anna Kantoch
Anna Kańtoch (born 28 December 1976 in Katowice, Poland) is a Polish writer of fantasy and crime fiction. She has published twenty novels and numerous short stories.
She completed oriental studies (specialty: Arab studies) at Jagiellonian University in Kraków and for over twenty years she's a member of Śląski Klub Fantastyki - a fantasy and science fiction club in her home town of Katowice.
She started as a fantasy writer, but over time switched to writing mostly crime fiction. She received five Janusz A. Zajdel Awards for her fantasy novels and short stories, she also received the Jerzy Żuławski Award for her novel "Czarne" ("Buio"). In 2021 she received Wielki Kaliber Award for her crime novel "Wiosna zaginionych" ("La primavera degli scomparsi").
She's married, has a cat, loves books, travelling to distant places and playing boardgames with her friends.
